For as long as I can remember, I have loved words – their shape and sound, their power to create landscapes, their ability to take you on a journey, to allow you to imagine worlds beyond where you are physically and geographically, to reach out and touch hearts and souls.

My mother told me that from an early age I was always writing. When I became a Christian in my teens, it seemed natural to throw words at the paper to convey my new-found relationship with God as well as reflecting on other life events and feelings. And so, my writing of what may loosely be called ‘Christian poetry’ has gone on, through the years. Writing. Expressing feelings, longings, questions. Like the Psalms in the Old Testament. Creating, composing, conveying my soul’s deepest longings.

I hope you will take some comfort or encouragement as you read these reflections, whether you are a person of faith or not.
