KNOTS, TWISTS AND FAITH IN GOD
Morning prayer: I'm so anxious
The Lord is the stronghold of my life. Of whom shall I be afraid? Psalm 27:1
Many things conspire to make me afraid.
Things outside of me: circumstances, politics, weather, people, expectations over which I have no control.
And things within: my anxieties, failures, doubts, concerns.
They overwhelm me like a tidal wave. A great tsunami that I need to flee from.
But this is me looking inwards.
Help me to turn inside out, and fix my gaze on you today.
Yes, all these problems and concerns will still be there (well, most of them anyway) at the end of the day
But so will you.
You will protect me, enfold me, wrap me up in your love and put a guard around me.
And so today I will say, “Whenever I am afraid, I will trust in you.”
