Coming Home

“There are many rooms in my Father’s house…” (John 14:2)

What’s a room? But four walls usually decorated in some way

With a door and a window.

Many rooms make a house, a castle or perhaps, a hotel.

So, Lord, are you the owner of a castle or

A landlord with a vast network of hotels?

One room for every believer?

Are they all the same size? Same quality?

Is it a luxury room or a basic one?

Do we get in-house service?

Won’t it get boring after a while?

What will we do all day?

And God says:

Stop living in a box where your thoughts are conditioned by the agendas of those around you.

Revitalise your thoughts with my intentions

Clean out your mind. Get rid of the dust and fluff that have lingered in the crevices.

Revise your actions, your reactions.

Look where you step. Walk on my paths.

Ensure your whole being is in tune with my symphony.

Step out of your clingfilmed mind, my child.

You’re not living in a museum, in the past

Governed by outdated laws and customs.

Think big. I make all things new.

Whatever your background or your parentage

Whatever the colour of your skin

Know me, and in so doing know my plans and purposes.

The walls of the box have burst open

It is time to live again. I am your home.

There is always plenty of room for those dwelling with me.
