KNOTS, TWISTS AND FAITH IN GOD
Stones along the path
Everything’s good, thanks. Fine, yes, fine.
Well, since you asked, there is a little problem, a fly in the ointment, a bit of a pain.
No, not a physical pain. I’m well.
More a blot on the landscape of my hopes and dreams.
I guess it always was there but I chose to ignore it, thinking it didn’t matter, it would go away.
But it didn’t. And I have to deal with it.
Otherwise, everything really is good. A realisation of what I’ve worked for, wished for, wanted.
Life this side of heaven is always going to be marked by niggles and stones along the path.
But that’s looking down at my feet, obscuring my view.
I need to look up, see the bigger picture, the full landscape, not the blot.
The master artist will deal with that in one broad brushstroke.
I need to trust him that he has planned my route, where my feet tread and where my head rests.
I need to trust him that all will be well.
Abram travelled through the land as far as the site of the great tree of Moreh at Shechem. At that time the Canaanites were in the land. The Lord appeared to Abram and said, “To your offspring I will give this land.” So he built an altar there to the Lord, who had appeared to him. Genesis 12: 6-7
